"For a child, home is not a fine house in the best part of town, with colored TV, a Wi-Fi, wall-to-wall carpeting and fine furniture. It is brothers, sisters, mother and father. It is where someone loves him, is interested in him and cares what happens to him."
The essence of this saying transcends & reflects the life of our chosen recipient the family Abanillo, which captured our hearts.
Family Abanillo lives simply in their small, unfurnished house in Purok Violeta, Brgy. Taculing, Bacolod City.
Roden Abanillo, the father, is a part time construction worker. His salary is not enough to support the needs of the family. He is working very hard though. Winnie Abanillo, the light of the family, is only but a plain housewife. She takes care of their children & does all the chores.
Due to the outpouring and unconditional love for each other, they had four children, namely:  Rowena, 7 years old, Rowelyn, 5 years old, Rabim, 2 years old, and Rodena, 2 months old. All were considered blessings to the family.
The fact that they were able to maintain their solidarity despite of adversities and challenges justified their worth. They are the living proof that love really do not fly out of the window when hunger strikes at home.

Simple Family
Though they may seem having no problem but deep inside,
they are struggling day by day for their living.
However, this does not matter, its love, compassion and affection
that is present among the members that is important.

Shelter of Love, Foundation of Hope

A house is never a home where there are convenience,
it is where there is a family who cares for you,
interested in you and loves you no matter what.

Glad We Came

We couldn’t imagine how this outreach program broke
the monotony of this family’s daily routine of living.
Tired and exhausted of what they are used to,
glad they came to experience something new.

My Everything

Every child is considered a blessing.
No one knows how this child brought happiness and joy to the family.
In spite of all the adversities, they tried to be hard working,
so as to provide Rodena a better future and more optimistic of
what the future may bring.

A Solemn Petition

The world may seem unfair but everyone is equal before God.
Thus, He listens and grants all wishes and hopes
of every individual and makes them a reality.
Let us remember that God has His own reason for our existence.
Hence, follow we must and live in His purpose.

Welcome to the Christian World

Rationality is the essence of man so as baptism in Christianity.
It is a way to leave love in our hearts and outweigh evil in our lives.

Guardians of an Angel
We met as strangers, yet destined by God
to have a common goal which is to guide this child.

A Bite of Joy, A Meal of Happiness

Our hearts were filled with joy as we saw how the family
enjoyed the foods we prepared for them.
It’s over whelming how they consider
an ordinary meal for us,
a special one.

Presents Coming from Our Hearts

Simple things means great joy,
most especially when it comes from the heart.
It’s not always the value that counts,
but it’s the thought that matters.

Simple Word as Thank You
Often, we tend to forget even to utter these magical words.
We always don’t take it into consideration of how these simple words
could mean and bring great change to others.
